Vyre / Downloads

Vyre 0.5.0

Everything you can install, in one place.

The apps for your computers and phone, the line that sets up your server, and the web app. Every link points at the latest release.

The apps

Mac

The Vyre app in its own window, with Touch ID. Apple silicon or Intel.

Windows

A tray app with an Alt+Space panel. Run the installer, or paste the line in PowerShell.

irm vyre.run/w | iex
How it works on Windows

Android

The Vyre app from a file. Open it on the phone and allow installs when Android asks.

iPhone

There is no App Store app yet. You build the app and install it with Xcode on a Mac.

Every file

The checksums, the signature and every other file of the release are on the release page.

Web app

Vyre in any browser, with nothing to install. Log in with your passkey.

The same app as the desktop and phone apps.
Your server

One line sets up the server.

Your agents live on a machine that stays on. Run the line as yourself, not as root. The app shows the same line with your code in it.

Linux server

curl -fsSL vyre.run/i | sh

Linux with Docker Compose 2.24 or newer. More on the Linux server

A Mac that stays on

curl -fsSL vyre.run/box/install-mac-server.sh | sh

Run it in Terminal. The Mac asks for its password once so Vyre starts when the Mac does. The steps in order

Check what you download

Every file is signed.

The release lists each file and its checksum, and signs that list with a key the Vyre app and the install line already know.

Questions

Questions about downloads.

Do the links always give the newest version?

Yes. Each button points at GitHub’s latest release, so it serves the newest file and the version on this page moves with each release.

Is there a Windows file besides the installer?

The PowerShell line and VyreSetup.exe do the same thing. The installer file is the one to double-click; the line is for a terminal.

Why is there no app store link?

The phone apps are not on a store yet. Android installs from a file you open on the phone. iPhone is built and installed with Xcode.

How do I know a file is what the release signed?

Every file is listed in SHA256SUMS, and SHA256SUMS.sig is an Ed25519 signature over that list by the release key. The Vyre app and the install line check it for you; to check it yourself, read the release page.
